There is no single cutoff score
Lenders do not read your score as a pass or fail. They sort applicants into tiers, and your tier decides the money factor or rate you are offered. Better credit usually means better terms rather than the difference between yes and no.
That also means the goal is rarely a perfect score. It is crossing the next tier boundary, which is often a twenty to forty point move and achievable in a couple of months.
What actually helps a difficult file
A larger down payment reduces the lender's exposure. A co signer with strong credit can unlock a materially better rate, though they take on the full debt and it sits on their credit file for the whole term. A less expensive vehicle, or one with a high residual, passes the ratios more easily.
And more lenders seeing the file matters more than most people expect. Tiering differs between lenders, so an application declined by one is regularly approved by another in the same week.
What we will not tell you
We will not tell you approval is certain, because it never is until a lender has reviewed the file. Anyone advertising guaranteed approval or financing with no credit check is either misleading you or steering you toward terms you should not sign.
If your file is not ready, we will say so, and tell you what would move it. Sometimes the right advice is to wait ninety days.
Where we work
We arrange leases and financing in all 50 states, and most clients never visit an office. Paperwork is handled remotely and the car is delivered to the address you give us.
If you would rather do it in person, the office is at 2912 Avenue X, Suite 104, Brooklyn, NY 11235. Clients across Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, Staten Island, The Bronx, and Long Island often collect locally. Open in Google Maps.
Common questions
- Can I lease a car with bad credit?
- It is possible with some lenders, though expect a higher money factor, a larger amount due at signing, or a more limited choice of vehicles. Everything is subject to the individual lender's criteria.
- Will you run my credit before telling me anything?
- We can talk through what your situation realistically supports before any application is submitted. A hard inquiry only happens once you decide to move forward.
- How quickly can I improve my credit before applying?
- Paying down credit card balances shows up fastest, often within about 30 days, because utilisation is roughly a third of a FICO score and updates as soon as balances are reported. Disputed report errors typically clear in 30 to 90 days.
